Bluestacks was one of the very first android emulator for windows ever released. It was also the best one of its era which supports and utilize your video card instead of emulating one, your multicore CPU for faster processing and your RAM.

GamePop is a company that offers free games via subscription and was operated by Bluestacks. GamePop however forces people to download sponsored apps to keep on using Bluestacks as an alternative of paying $2.00. The problem with GamePop on the latest releases was the forced download on random occasion amounting to 2-6 instance on one month even though it should be once a month. This issue convinced me to release a way to bypass GamePop.

In order to stop the forced download of apps, we need to stop the responsible application. GamePop Home launcher that gives access to Google Play, GamePop app store and a few other app stores.  The sad truth is that we can’t disable the default launcher without replacing the old one. I handpicked Apex Launcher Pro for the sole reason that it supports landscape format turning our emulator into a full tablet.

After downloading our new launcher, go to Device Settings then Apps (application) tab and locate “Running”. What we need to find is “GamePop Home”.  Disabling this application will stop the automated download until Bluestacks upgrades.

Make sure to remove GamePop as the default launcher by clicking looking at the section “Launch by Default” then clicking “Clear Default”.

The final step is by launching your newly installed launcher and make sure to set it as default and never ever open “GamePop Home” again.
