Fullmetal Alchemist is now on live action
Netflix’s live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie is now live and streaming. This is the story about two alchemist brothers that lost both of their parents at a young age and their journey to become a state alchemist to gain more knowledge to correct a forbidden backlash of the human transmutation.
The story is based on Hiromu Arakawa’s popular manga of the same name that ran from July 2001 through June 2010. The same manga also have 2 anime adaptations named Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
Human Transmutation is Forbidden
The story opens at a scene where the brothers are attempting a higher and forbidden alchemy called human transmutation. It is an act to recreate a human from equivalent components that makes a human body. The transmutation was forbidden since no one can measure the equivalent of a human soul.
The missing component for a human soul resulted in a backslash where Alphonse’s body got consumed and Edward loosing his leg. In order to save this brother, Edward performed a soul transmutation binding Alphonse’s soul in a metal armor resulting an equivalent trade of Edward’s arm.
