How to Withdraw to PayMaya from PayPal

PayPal with PayMaya

PayPal with PayMaya

Update: PayMaya and PayPal are talking with a deal to zero out all withdrawal fees from PayPal to PayMaya card in the Philippines. This move will bring back the days where you can take out your money from PayPal without a fee. The talks also include for instant crediting to PayMaya cards.

Update: A few changes have occurred in the past since this article was written. The withdrawal payment is now fixed to P250.00 and the length of waiting is now 5 working days as minimum.

PayPal supports withdrawal to VISA cards and luckily your PayMaya card is powered by VISA. PayPal allows withdrawal feature, allowing you to transfer funds from your PayPal account to your Visa® branded credit, debit or prepaid card. This new feature will enable you to gain convenient access to your funds and is available in 26 countries, including Malaysia, India, Indonesia and the Philippines.

How to Withdraw to PayMaya from PayPal

Log in to your account and click the ‘Withdraw’ tab.

Widraw from PayPal using PayMaya

Widraw from PayPal using PayMaya

Click ‘Transfer funds to your card’.

PayPal won’t charge you for P7000.00 minimum transfer to your VISA card but charges P50.00 for values less than P7000.00, this is to protect the system from being overrun by minor transactions.

PayPal now charges a FIX P250.00 on all money transfer going to your PayMaya account.

Crediting usually takes 5-7  banking days but usually gets credited in less than 2 days for PayMaya transactions. There have been changes since this was written and the latest test I have done takes 5 days of waiting time excluding weekends.

Hi sir, ginamit kasi ng misis ko yung paymaya visa card ko to transfer money from her paypal account, papasok kaya yung money kung under my name yung card na naka link?

    • The transfer may get declined.

The system is strict with PayPal to Gcash and PayPal to Bank account. There are also chances that the transfer gets flagged when the names do not match using PayMaya.

    • You need an upgraded account and it will take 3-5 working days before funds in PayPal gets credited to PayMaya. Sometimes it takes 1 day. ATM fee is P15 per transaction.

  8. Ryne says:

I still get “Sorry, we’re unable to process your request. Please try again later.” even if my PayMaya is upgraded. I’m trying to withdraw funds to my physical card which is Visa because my virtual card is MasterCard. Also, I connected my physical card (to PayMaya and PayPal) even before I upgraded to PayMaya Plus. I wonder if the issue lies somewhere between those lines. Any thoughts on this sir? Thanks in advance.

  9. steph delfin says:

whats the diff bet paymaya visa and paymaya mastercard? can both be link to paypal! thanks

    • The main difference is the provider (Visa or MasterCard). If you are going to use it with PayPal, use VISA since you cannot cash out from PayPal using MasterCard.

  10. James says:

I linked my Paymaya Virtual Card thinking I can withdraw, kaso Mastercard pala ang Virtual Card. I also ordered the physical card online, hopefully it’s Visa.

  11. Cristel Pineda says:

  18. michael g says:

sino po naka.experience dito ng internal error sa paypal? na.resolve nyo po ba? kaka.upgrade ko lang kasi the same day na at confirm ako ng paymaya visa card. kala ko pwede na withdraw. pero i think ang problem is di pa natapos yung process, kasi matatapos lang ata yun if refunded na yung verification charge. sana maayos, need ko pa naman ng pera. ko paypal kagabi, sabi let it seat daw for 72hours. waiting mode muna.b

    • coderinthebox says:

72 hours is the maximum time kung saan magtimeout ang isang VISA transaction.

  19. xie says:

Hi, just want to ask if I can still withdraw money using my paymaya physical card, there’s a VISA LOGO there but my virtual card is not VISA it is Smart Mastercard cause I used smart number when I signed in there. My paymaya is already linked in my paypal and its upgraded also. Pls response.

  20. Good day sir, I have a paymaya account and it’s already upgraded to Paymaya Plus. But I don’t have the card yet (kakaorder ko lang). I already linked my paymaya to paypal. I am planning to transfer funds from paypal to paymaya. My question is, is the transfer possible even if I don’t have a paymaya card? Thanks.

    • coderinthebox says:

The transfer will happen even if you don’t have an existing physical card. Based on experience, transferring from PayPal using a MasterCard PayMaya may get some restrictions/errors.

  21. Rj says:

Ask ko lang po. Nagwithdraw ako ng P 7000 sa paypal account ko to my BPI account. Di ba dapat free of charge na yun? Bakit ganun?

    • coderinthebox says:

BPI charges P200 to all Money transfer coming from PayPal since last year. PayPal is not charging but BPI does.

  22. Nina Gong says:

May possibility pa bang i-change to Visa Card?

    • coderinthebox says:

Smart numbers gets Mastercard since November last year. You can’t convert a Mastercard account into a Visa account.

PayMaya is a prepaid credit card, if you need to withdraw money, select Savings.

  31. rustyexcalibur says:

if i withdraw dollars, will it also reflect dollars on my PayMaya?

    • coderinthebox says:

PayPal will convert the money into Philippine Peso using PayPal’s exchange rate. PayPal have a low exchange rate when buying and a high exchange rate for selling.

  32. Is there any way to withdraw my money from my paypal to paymaya? My card is mastercard and i cant withdraw it because i dont have any bank account. Please help me

    • coderinthebox says:

Smart’s PayMaya Mastercard is NOT capable to accept money from PayPal.

      • Zafeway says:

So how can we have a VISA card in PayMaya since only 1 paymaya account is only allowed?

      • coderinthebox says:

I have no answer for that. PayMaya made that rule when it was they are the one incharge of serving the cards (virtual/physical). A joint venture with SmartMoney group create an issue where Smart produced a Mastercard Version that have no feature to receive money from external sources (outside Smartmoney and PayMaya). Mail

  33. Zafeway says:

Hi coderinthebox.

    • coderinthebox says:

If Smart Mastercard ang PayMaya ninyo, hindi sya working na malagyan ng pera from PayPal. Smart Mastercard have no support for PayPal transfer.

      • Zafeway says:

What should I do then to have a Visa?

      • Zafeway says:

So, walang silbi pala itong account ko. 🙁

  34. Hindi daw mag withdraw sa VIRTUAL CARD if master card sya. Be sure to get the VISA Virtual card (dapat globe user ka. I successfully linked both cards kaso ung physical card internal error sya pag nagtatry me mag withdraw. Try q tawagan paypal if maaayos nila. will update

    • coderinthebox says:

Smart Mastercard have NO physical card. Only VISA card physical or virtual na upgraded ang pwedeng padalhan ng pera from PayPal. Make sure it is UPGRADED.

    • coderinthebox says:

“Withdraw refunded” means that the withdraw process failed. Make sure your PayMaya account is a VISA account. Mastercard is not eligible for transfers.

  36. Efren Q says:

Your money is in your PayPal account. It won’t go back to your PayMaya unless you withdraw from PayPal going to your PayMaya.

    • coderinthebox says:

Get your PayMaya account upgraded by “Know Your Customer” program. It is required by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Link your card to your PayMaya account and wait for a successfully link confirmation. Your Physical card will appear on your PayMaya account.

  42. pip says:

Hi there! So, I had a real bad experience with PayMaya. Nothing financially, though. I still couldn’t upgrade my PayMaya account because the first reason was my gov’t photo was unclear. I tried changing the photo but the app doesn’t have any kind of option for that. I tried the Facebook video call confirmation but they kept changing my schedule even if I agreed to every time they gave me and never replied after I told them that I had to free my time because of the sched that they suggested firsthand and suddenly changed it when I was all set-up.

Anyway, any of you guys know how else to get confirmed? Some of my money’s in the account and I’d like to withdraw everything from it.

  43. garzee says:

Thanks!

    • coderinthebox says:

Do it on Tuesday, transfer request on Monday (Philippines) time is Sunday on PayPal’s main office.

      • collabblogph says:

Aww. I just transferred my Paypal funds today and it’s a Monday. How long will it take to transfer on my Paymaya account? Last time I withdraw was a Thursday then it was credited on Monday.

      • coderinthebox says:

3 – 5 days if done on Monday, if in luck it will arrive within 24 hours

  44. Zen says:

Hello. Mas mababa kasi ng 1 peso yung conversion rate nila.

    • coderinthebox says:

Conversion is automatic. Rate being used is internal to PayMaya’s conversion table. If it comes from PayPal, PayPal will use convert the money based on PayPal’s conversion table which is usually lower than the actual exchange rate.

  45. john says:

Hi, is this also applicable to paymay virtual credit card? I’m planning to buy in amazon and i’ll be using this card.

I linked my virtual card and was able to withdraw from paypal but it just stays on the app and buy things online, I want to get my paypal money somehow in my hands. Does it have the same balance?

    • coderinthebox says:

You don’t need to link your physical card to PayPal before you can withdraw. Link it with your PayMaya account and set a PIN code.

3-5 days but if you initiated the transfer on Tuesday up to thursday (GMT+8 Manila), you can get the money credited in less than 1 hour.

      • MC says:

wow talaga po? yung sa friend ko kasi, eon ang gamit niya. and base sa experience nya, dahil 1st transaction ng paypal nya, umabot ng 25days bago narelease ung money from paypal niya.

      • mc says:

  50. Hello, I just want to ask about that. I have an activated PayMaya Visa Card and I just want to withdraw my PayPal funds to my PayMaya Account. How long does it take to withdraw my PayPal funds to my PayMaya app linked to my card?

    • coderinthebox says:

3-5 days but if you initiated the transfer on Tuesday up to thursday (GMT+8 Manila), you can get the money credited in less than 1 hour. It should fall to a Monday afternoon in PayPal’s timezone.

  51. Jan says:

Hey Coderinthebox, I hope you can get back to me, I just wanted to know if this happened to you already; you added your Paymaya card (not activate) to Paypal and it says “This card is not accepted. Please use a different card.” I’ve asked around and some are saying that I need to have a minimum balance to attach it. Is that true?

  52. Jasper Pelesco says:

I now have the physical card.
Can I withdraw the funds using my card sa ATM kahit na dun ko trinansfer sa virual credit card ko?
    Thank you po.

    • coderinthebox says:

If your physical card is linked to your virtual card then you can easily withdraw your virtual card’s cash on any ATM using the linked Physical card

  53. This is very helpful! Thank you so much! I ordered my Paymaya physical card, now I am waiting for it to be delivered. I also made my Paymaya Virtual Card. But I am now having doubts with Paymaya since I’m seeing negative comments on their Facebook page regarding lost money from their account balances. Nevertheless, Paymaya is the most convenient way to keep up on this world of online transactions, aside from we live in a very remote area where there are only rural banks. I am happy to know that I can use this for my Paypal funds.

    • Also, can I ask for an upgrade even if I don’t have the physical card yet?

      • coderinthebox says:

You can ask for an upgrade without the physical card. Upgrading is free, if the person you transact with ask you for any kind of payments even load wallet deposit, that is a fake account and a scammer

    • coderinthebox says:

Lost of money was due to FAKE PayMaya accounts asking them to deposit to the scammers 711 money transfer account or the scammers pending money transfer. Once a PayMaya user, you get a card that can be charged as long as it contains money.

      1. People claimed they lost money when sending to another persons account. PayMaya have no control on what number/account you are transferring to. It is the duty of the PayMaya user to check and verify the account/number they are sending the money.

      2. People new to credit/debit cards shares their card number, address and willingly share their CVV codes to third party people. Card Number and CVV code is enough to charge on third party payment processing.

      3. People claiming they lost money when transferring money to a third party person while their account is blocked to transfer. The amount gets deducted and refunded on the same day due to invalid transaction. Some people just love to exaggerate their claims. One example was a complaint I got on my email. The person claims she lost P3,000+ of money but on the end she admitted that she only loaded up P200 which is far below the claimed P3,000 loss.

The only valid claims are loss of money when Steam refuses to return their P48-P80 test charge when purchasing Steam Wallet for the first time. It is Steam’s issue and happens even if you are not using PayMaya. Another possible loss is a pending PayPal link activation, PayPal can hold your P100 up to 1 month.

    • coderinthebox says:

BPI started charging P150 for receiving money on international sources, PayPal on the other hand is transferring it for free. Transfer to PayMaya was modified by PayPal to a fix P250.00 which cause PayMaya to renegotiate. It used to be free regardless of the amount. For the remaining months of 2016, PayPal and PayMaya have a deal of 50% discount in charges. All transfers to PayMaya will be charge for P125.00 instead of the fix P250.00 that PayPal imposed on their website

      • pndacodes says:

Hi po. Just want to clarify, the charge for paypal to paymaya transactions is now lowered to 125php?

I use BPI to transfer paypal funds. It only takes a day to process and 150 fixed charge. (+50 for Paypal fees <7k)

      • coderinthebox says:

There is a running 50% charge promo for PayMaya (P250/2 = P125). If you transfer from PayPal and it falls to Monday – Thursday in USA (PayPal’s main timezone), you will get it on the same day.

  57. Alvin says:

Hi Coder.. what if i withdraw my paypal funds to a savings bank account? example with bpi. how much will be the fee?

    • coderinthebox says:

Free for amount greater than P7000 and up. This is my favorite method of getting my money from PayPal

  58. Monroe says:

Hi! How much namn po ang fee sa part ng paymaya pagmagwithdraw ka from paypal to paymaya? PhP250 sa paypal plus _____ sa paymaya = ?

    • coderinthebox says:

PayMaya does not charge anything when you withdraw but the bank you are using may charge from P11.00 to P15.00
PayMaya have no local bank partner yet

  59. JohanKepler says:

What do you mean Preactivated? I bought a card online, would I still need to upgrade?

    • coderinthebox says:

Cards are preactivated for online, offline and ATM transactions but you need to link it to a working PayMaya account.

  60. van says:

Paypal to BDO is only One (1) business day as long as its withdrew within monday – wednesday. So as for Paymaya, what is their actual/usual transfer time from paypal to paymaya? Any regular user here can share their experience? Parang once every 4 months ka lng nag wiwithdraw so your answers are limited.

Kindly check your own words, you sound like you know everything. Stop contradicting yourself.

      • coderinthebox says:

I should not be replying to you, you supplied a bogus email and a bogus name. You are just promoting your website.. I’ll do you some favor and convert your website into and ordinary text. For a robot, perhaps you can’t deny why my blog appears on top of PayMaya searches..

  62. Francis says:

Thank you po sa info. Planning to use PayMaya to verify my Paypal and withdraw funds. 🙂
kaso mahal pa ng kaltas ng Paypal sana mapamura nila. 🙂

    • coderinthebox says:

Price will go down to Fixed P50 or P0 when PayMaya completes the deal with PayPal. I was being charged P50 and sometimes P250, which made me cancel the transaction and perform a PayPal to bank account transaction for P0 fee.

      • Francis says:

Thank you Sir. pa update na lang po if the deal of both party is okay na. :D. bisita2 nlng po ako d2 sa site nyo.

      • coderinthebox says:

I am monitoring it too and asking them for updates from time to time.

      • Renjie says:

Hi. How is it possible for withdrawing from PayPal to BPI become free po? Mine gets deducted P150 each time regardless if it’s above 7,000. Help! Salamat

      • coderinthebox says:

It must be BPI who is charging P150, PayPal is not charging anything if it is a local bank in the Philippines and the amount is P7000 up.

“If the information in your withdrawal request is incorrect or incomplete, the funds will be returned to your PayPal account and a return fee will apply. Your bank may charge additional fees.”

If the amount is lower than P7000, banks may charge P100 and PayPal charges P50. Return fee is P250, the same amount you need to pay to transfer money from your bank account into PayPals wallet.

      • Rosemarie Eria says:

Yes just an FYI. I withdraw my funds to m BPI account and they charged 150 php regardless of the amount.

  63. Drew says:

    • coderinthebox says:

P50 is what PayMaya have with PayPal but PayPal is charging in random of P50 or P250. There was still a negotiation with PayMaya and PayPal to reduce the cost to zero or P0 and make the transfer in an instant.

  64. tan says:

Need some clarification regarding the payment, I opt for Cash on Delivery meaning I’ll just disregard the information below found in terms and conditions tab

  65. Cherzzy says:

Hi po coderinthebox! I have my physical and virtual Paymaya card im confused because my Virtual card was the one I used to have my Paypal account be verified, and I linked my Physical card to my Paymaya account and it went good now my question is if im going to transfer my money from Paypal going to my Virtual card how can I possibly withdraw it? If the money will go to my Virtual card how can I get it? What’s the use of my physical card?

    • coderinthebox says:

Your virtual and physical cards once linked will share the same account number. The purpose of the physical card is to upgrade your account and enable withdrawals on ATM machines.

      • Cherzzy says:

Thank you so much for the quick response.

      • Minnie says:

      • coderinthebox says:

Just use one either virtual or physical card for PayPal. Once your card is lined to your virtual PayMaya account, they will share the same money wallet.

  66. Fidz says:

    • coderinthebox says:

Are you using “Add Credit” of PayPal? If yes, it will throw an error since there is no money to withdraw

I have my physical card and funds to my paymaya card. Nung tinry ko po ayaw niya po. Tas may options po na Savings, Current, Credit card. Pano po ba? Thanks 🙂

    • coderinthebox says:

Savings. It is a prepaid credit card. If you use credit card, it won’t work since that is cash advance widrawal with interest.

  69. James says:

Hello po I have another question… I’ve already withdrawn my money from paypal to paymaya… But di ko Po mawithdraw sa ATM machine… Kailangan bang Upgraded yung paymaya Card?

    • coderinthebox says:

Do you have a physical card? If yes, was it lineked to your account?

If you don’t have a card, you need to upgrade to get one

  70. james says:

“This card is not accepted. Please use a different card”.

how much po kaya yung Limit pag unconfirmed? sayang kasi yung Fee , thanks.

    • coderinthebox says:

Me laman ba ung PayMaya ninyo?

      • James says:

        Meron po 150….

Nung nilink ko sya sa Paypal… Dun sa activities ng Paymaya app ko…. Approved Purchase from Paypal : 47.90 php, tapos refund money from paypal : 47.90…

And may limit kaya?

      • coderinthebox says:

        Pano ka nagconfirm sa PayPal?

      • coderinthebox says:

If yes, binigay mo ba sa Paypal? If no, me “resend verification code” sa PayPal sa “unconfirmed” card. Kelangan mo ng around P120-P150 dahil mag charge ang PayPal ng ganyang amount to be refunded in 24 hours max of 3 days.

  71. james says:

can I withdraw on the ATM, which specific ATM? I already have the physical Paymaya card…

    • coderinthebox says:

PayMaya have no partner bank, you can withdraw your money at any bank with P11 – P15 bank charge (the bank that you use to withdraw). P11 was encountered on selected BPI banks.

  72. Mary Toni Pescador says:

How many days before I would receive the funds from my paypal account to my paymaya card?

    • coderinthebox says:

almost a week. it used to be faster. charge was now fixed to P250

      • Mary Toni Pescador says:

Is that a charge from paypal or paymaya? paypal charges us 250. does paymaya charges us also?

      • coderinthebox says:

Charge from PayPal, PayMaya is not charging. PayMaya will charge in the future when you load money to your wallet via 711 and Payment center

  73. AnnaLorraine Balibay says:

Hello citb thanks for the tutorial . Anyways just a quick question . If even i cashout my funds in paypal to paymaya how can i wtdraw the money in paymaya? And how long will it take ?

    • coderinthebox says:

Please note that the withdraw to PayMaya Card cost for P250 flat rate.

To withdraw from PayMaya account, secure a PayMaya Physical card, if you don’t have one yet, search for PayMaya kiosk or go to Jumpin stores of Smart.

The last method is to purchase a card from their online store, The cards are preactivated and you only need to link it to your existing PayMaya account. Crediting is within 7 days from PayPal. Card delivery is around 5-7 working days.

  77. Jay says:

Thank you for the tutorial. I have a question though, I thought the fee for withdrawing to your card is P250 and not P50? Correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks again.

    • coderinthebox says:

P50 if below P7000 or free if above. PayPal imposes the charge

      • Jay says:

Hello! Thanks for the response. I tried withdrawing over P7000 from my paypal account to PayMaya (Transfer funds to your card option) and the fee is P250. I think the P50 fee is only applicable if you have an actual bank account attached to paypal.

      • coderinthebox says:

I checked PayPal and they changed the charges, they now are applying a fixed P250 charge for card withdrawals. They must have noticed the increase of people withdrawing to their cards and taking advantage of it.

  78. coderinthebox says:

I made this post to make a one stop information page on how to use PayMaya to get your PayPal cash. This on assumption that you have your PayMaya upgraded for withdrawals and you have verified your PayPal account which is not hard using PayMaya
